LENOVO to DELL computer transition changes.

Dell Australia has been awarded the three year tender to supply ECU's SOE PC's from 2010.
The introduction of Dell computers to the SOE creates the need to use new methods and software applications to perform standard tasks and functions for day to day
computing that were previously provided by the Lenovo computers.

The introduction of Dell computers will involve some minor changes to how a small number of tasks are carried out on your Windows SOE computer.
These changes are a result of the included software suite on Dell SOE computers being slightly different to the software that was included with the Lenovo SOE range.
Some examples of changes include how to burn DVDs, connecting a second monitor or connecting your notebook to a data projector.

The instructions below have been prepared to aid you in the change over from a Lenovo PC to a Dell.

Known Issues

There is a known minor issue when using the Dell Webcam Central Software.
When users first attempt to start up the Dell Webcam software they will be asked if they wish to utilise ffdshow. The preferred method to deal with this is to select
"Don't use ffdshow (Always)" and then tick the "Don't Ask Me Again" box. Please see this screenshot for further details.
